Use a soft cloth with a little alcohol and gently wipe along the edge of the welding bar to clean off any plastic residue and dirt.
Dot not use any detergent, abrasive solvent and/or objects like scissors, cutters, letter openers, etc. to clean the welding bar. These can damage the welding bar and prevent the machine from cutting properly.
Most likely it will need a new wire for the motor to raise the head up and down or the machine might need a new motor. You can contact our service department via email email@example.com to arrange for repairs.
If you are trying to cut the cover and it's being pulled there might be plastic residue on the roller. You can turn the machine over carefully and try to clean the roller using a soft cloth with alcohol to remove plastic residue. Then rub the roller bar with a paper towel. If this doesn't fix the problem contact our service department via email firstname.lastname@example.org
The material with which CoLibrì's covers are made (Polyethylene) can last for decades, if not centuries, when preserved in the right conditions. When it comes to a book cover applied to a book, its durability depends on how often the book is circulated and how it's handled every time the book is circulated.
Absolutely not! The CoLibri covers are acid free and have no harsh or toxic chemicals. They do not stick to the books. The covers can be removed anytime and replaced with a new cover without any damage to the book. Unlike other brands there is no need for adhesives or tape and the covers do not stick to the book.
If you enter your address here it gives you the location of all stores and places where you can drop off Colibri cover scraps – they are class 4 LDPE, like grocery bags.
Most stores nationwide have bins outside where you can recycle grocery bags and you can add Colibri covers to those bins. Unfortunately, curbside recycling programs only collect a very limited selection of plastic items, usually class 1,2 and sometimes class 5.
So Colibri covers, along with plastic bags and a number of other LDPE plastics, need to be recycled at specific collection points normally outside grocery stores.
